CdTe synthesis and crystal growth using the high-pressure Bridgman technique

open access: yesJournal of Crystal Growth, 2020
Abstract Efficient, safe and cost-effective synthesis of CdTe from elements is rather challenging in silica sealed ampoules due to the high vapor pressure of Cd. In this article, we report on the integrated synthesis and crystal growth of high-purity CdTe using the high pressure Bridgman (HPB) technique that is scalable to large volumes.

An induction heating system for in situ X‐ray diffraction imaging: design, simulation and application to dislocation dynamics in semiconductors

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 1126-1142, July 2026.
This work presents a compact induction heating system for time‐resolved in situ X‐ray diffraction imaging. The system enables contact‐free volumetric heating up to approximately 1600°C and provides flexible operation in different operating modes. Its performance is demonstrated through representative diffraction imaging experiments. We present a compact

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 44, 1 June 2026.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Current‐Driven Nonreciprocal Response of Nonequilibrium Skyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
A skyrmion holds great promise for spintronic applications owing to its intrinsic topological stability and high mobility under ultra‐low current excitation. Here, by means of in situ electron microscopy, we demonstrate a skyrmion diode effect and the associated current‐driven nonreciprocal skyrmion dynamics in a designed FeGe‐based microdevice.

Microstructure Evolution in Directionally Solidified Fe–C–Mn–(Si) Peritectic Steels

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 6, Page 3133-3142, June 2026.
This study investigates how growth velocity and silicon additions affect dendritic morphology, primary arm spacing, and mushy‐zone evolution in directionally solidified quaternary peritectic steels. Silicon substantially broadens the freezing range and lengthens the mushy zone, increasing susceptibility to interdendritic cracking.
