Motivic complexes over finite fields and the ring of correspondences at the generic point [PDF]
Already in the 1960s Grothendieck understood that one could obtain an almost entirely satisfactory theory of motives over a finite field when one assumes the full Tate conjecture. In this note we prove a similar result for motivic complexes.

Smooth toric varieties are Oka [PDF]
In this brief note, we show that every smooth toric variety over the field of complex numbers is an Oka manifold.Comment: Version 2: A remark corrected, a reference updated.

On the Maillet--Baker continued fractions [PDF]
We use the Schmidt Subspace Theorem to establish the transcendence of a class of quasi-periodic continued fractions. This improves earlier works of Maillet and of A. Baker.

Effective model of a finite group action [PDF]
Let $R$ be a discrete valuation ring with fraction field $K$. Let $X$ be a flat $R$-scheme of finite type and $G$ a finite flat group scheme acting on $X$ so that $G\_K$ is faithful on the generic fibre $X\_K$.

Terracotta, a construction material extensively used over centuries, is a perfect example of how the production of a material depends on the evolution of energy resources required for its extraction, firing, and transportation.
