Pragmatics of language in the broad autism phenotype

Researchers have reported a higher prevalence for parents of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) to have subtle characteristics of ASD, known as the broad autism phenotype (BAP). Deficits in the pragmatics of language are a hallmark feature of ASD and thus become a natural candidate for assessment in the BAP.
