Range-resolved signal processing for fibre segment interferometry applied to dynamic long-gauge length strain sensing [PDF]
A range-resolved interferometric signal processing technique using sinusoidal optical frequency modulation is applied to fibre segment interferometry. Here, six optical fibre segments of gauge length 12.5 cm are used as interferometric strain sensors and

Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Detection of Photoacoustic Transients Originating from Microstructures in Optically Diffuse Media such as Biological Tissue [PDF]
The generation and detection of broadband photoacoustic (PA) transients may be used for on-axis monitoring or for imaging of optically different structures in the interior of diffuse bodies such as biological tissue.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

A non-invasive, quantitative study of broadband spectral responses in human visual cortex. [PDF]
Currently, non-invasive methods for studying the human brain do not routinely and reliably measure spike-rate-dependent signals, independent of responses such as hemodynamic coupling (fMRI) and subthreshold neuronal synchrony (oscillations and event ...

In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.
