Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.

A Novel Capture-Aware TDMA-Based MAC Protocol for Safety Messages Broadcast in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Since broadcast communication is considered the highly appropriate technique for the dissemination of safety messages in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), it is vital to design a high-efficient medium access control (MAC) protocol for vehicles ...

People Counting and Positioning Using Low‐Resolution Infrared Images for FeFET‐Based In‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low‐resolution infrared imaging is combined with a 28 nm FeFET IMC architecture to enable compact, energy‐efficient edge inference. MLC FeFET devices are experimentally characterized, and controlled multi‐level current accumulation is validated at crossbar array level.

Bridging home, school and community to address educational inequality: Supporting educational trajectories through community bridge work

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper explores the role of community stakeholders in supporting the educational trajectories of students experiencing socio‐economic disadvantage in the Irish context. Building on international and national policy debates, the study examines how community‐based organisations, statutory services and outreach initiatives work alongside ...

Improving TCP Performance over Wireless Ad Hoc Networks with Busy Tone Assisted Scheme

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2006
It is well known that transmission control protocol (TCP) performance degrades severely in IEEE 802.11-based wireless ad hoc networks. We first identify two critical issues leading to the TCP performance degradation: (1) unreliable broadcast, since ...

‘Sometimes, I would look at my books and cry because I felt like I was left behind’: Understanding the learning of Indigenous girls during the COVID‐19 pandemic in the districts of Chongwe and Solwezi in Zambia

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Grounded in principles of epistemic justice, this article examines the educational impacts of Zambia's COVID‐19 school closures on Indigenous girls in two districts and highlights community‐led pathways for resilience. National responses prioritised broadcast and digital delivery but presupposed access to electricity, digital devices and ...

Compress-and-Forward for Relay Broadcast Channels without Common Messages

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies, 2015
This paper is connected with compress-and-forward strategy for two-user relay broadcast channels without common messages, where the relay node has private messages from the source, in addition to aiding traditional communication from the source to the ...

The Digital‐Sustainability Disconnect: A Test of Strategic Alignment in the Circular Economy Transition

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study challenges the common assumption that digital and sustainability transformations are naturally synergistic. Integrating signaling theory and the dynamic capability view, we argue that for many firms, particularly traditional SMEs, these initiatives are pursued on separate, unaligned strategic tracks, creating a “signaling‐substance ...
