Effects of dietary curcumin supplementation on seminal quality indices and fertility rate in broiler breeder roosters

British Poultry Science, 2019
1. Decreased semen quality is an underlying contributor to age-related subfertility in broiler breeder roosters. This study investigated the effects of dietary curcumin (derived from turmeric) supplementation as an antioxidant source on semen quality and

An improvement in productive and reproductive performance of aged broiler breeder hens by dietary supplementation of organic selenium.

Theriogenology, 2019
This study was conducted to determine the optimum level of home-made selenium-enriched yeast (SeY) in the diet of broiler breeder hens and to compare the effects of this product with sodium selenite (SS) or Selemax (SM) on their productive and ...

Evaluation of Biosecurity in Broiler Breeders

Avian Diseases, 1987
The economic impact of management practices designed to limit the introduction of disease into a parent broiler breeder flock (biosecurity) was evaluated using benefit-cost analysis. Equations were developed to quantify the losses resulting from infection with one of four alternative categories of disease representing incremental levels of ...

Infectious tenosynovitis in broilers and broiler breeders in Egypt

Veterinary Research Communications, 1984
Two infectious tenosynovitis-producing viruses were isolated from tendon sheaths and synovial fluids of 59 broilers and 15 broiler breeders obtained from different flocks in Egypt during June to October 1983. The viruses grew well on the chorioallantoic membrane of developing chicken embryos, produced small localized white pock lesions with oedematous ...

Acute pectoral myopathy in broiler breeders

Avian Pathology, 1982
An acute myopathy is described which principally affects the superficial pectoral muscle (Musculus pectoralis) of broiler breeders between 12 and 20 weeks of age. The disease is sporadic and associated with rapid death. The lesion is characterised histologically by a severe my o degeneration but with little or no cellular response. The cause is unknown.

The feeding and management of table-egg (white and brown shell) breeding birds was not included in this chapter because of the key management differences associated with feeding these breeders as opposed to the methods used for broiler breeders. The feeding of modern table-egg breeders does not require controlled feeding because, in general, the body ...
