Adjuvant use for the management of pesticide drift, leaching and runoff

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 10, Page 4819-4827, October 2024.
Review of laboratory and field research/modelling of adjuvant effects on pesticide drift, leaching and runoff. Adjuvants modifying emulsion/extensional viscosity properties of tank mixes can reduce small droplet fractions of sprays, reducing drift potential with some nozzles. Binding adjuvants can reduce leaching.

Phototreatment of Water by Organic Photosensitizers and Comparison with Inorganic Semiconductors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Phototreatment of water is drawing the attention of many as a promising alternative to replace methods like chlorination, ozonization, and other oxidation processes, used in current disinfection methods limiting harmful side‐products and by‐products that can cause damage to the fauna and flora.

Reduced Freshwater Mussel Juvenile Production as a Result of Agricultural and Urban Contaminant Mixture Exposures

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, Volume 43, Issue 5, Page 1112-1125, May 2024.
Abstract Freshwater mussels provide invaluable ecological services but are threatened by habitat alteration, poor water quality, invasive species, climate change, and contaminants, including contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). Contaminants of emerging concerns are well documented in aquatic environments, including the Great Lakes Basin, but ...

Effects of Some Hill Reaction-Inhibiting Herbicides on Nitrous Oxide Emission from Nitrogen-Input Farming Soil

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emission-suppressing activity of some electron-transport inhibitors of the Hill reaction system was investigated. The Hill reaction inhibitors—paraquat, isouron, bromacil, diquat, and simazine—all of which have been or are
