Marine Macroalgae as a Safe Healthy Food While Meeting Food Security Challenges Arising From Climate Changes

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Planned harvesting and processing of marine macroalgae could meet future global food needs and mitigate fuel‐originated carbon dioxide responsible for climate change. Microalgal foods are nutritious and safe. The utilization of macroalgae would avoid environmental problems arising from the release of overgrowing macroalgae caused by heatwaves, which ...

Local Structures of Se and Br in Cretaceous–Paleogene Boundary Sediments and Concentration Effects of Ferrihydrite Originating From Impact Ejecta

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Chemical states of Se and Br atoms in the KPg boundary sediments from Stevns Klint were studied using XAFS spectroscopy. The high concentrations of Se4+ could become an index of the degree to which the global environment was soiled with dust and ash derived from impact ejecta or volcanic eruptions.

Isostructural Analysis in Proposed Crystallization Mechanisms at the Molecular Level of Methyl 4‐bromobenzoate and Methyl 4‐iodobenzoate

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
Proposed molecular‐level crystallization mechanisms for halogenated aryl esters were developed based on theoretical energetic and topological data regarding intermolecular and supramolecular interactions. Energetic analysis was used to determine the hierarchy of interactions guiding supramolecular structure growth along the three axes, as well as to ...

Bridging Fundamentals and Practice: Advances in Electrolyte Chemistry for Rechargeable Magnesium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
This review critically assesses recent advances in electrolytes for magnesium‐sulfur batteries, encompassing non‐nucleophilic systems (chloride‐containing, chloride‐free, and polymer‐based) and nucleophilic counterparts. Key strategies, including anion design, solvation regulation, and interphase engineering, are highlighted.
