Flexible Leaf‐Like Fuel Cell From Plasmonic Janus Nanosheet

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible leaf‐like fuel cell is fabricated by conductive gold nanowire sponge‐supported plasmonic Janus nanosheet, which can generate a power of 8.93 mW cm⁻2 with less than 10% performance deterioration even being bent or twisted. Further assembly in a tree‐like layout demonstrates omnidirectional light harvesting capability and wind resistance ...

California Strawberry Production and Methyl Bromide [PDF]

open access: yes
California strawberry growers were faced with the possibility of losing one of their most important chemicals, methyl bromide. Methyl bromide was believed to be involved in the depletion of the ozone layer and 162 countries had signed the Montreal ...

Township limits on 1,3-D will impact adjustment to methyl bromide phase-out

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 2001
Methyl bromide, a popular and effective crop fumigant, is being phased out in the United States and globally because of impacts on the ozone layer. Demand for a replacement chemical, 1,3-D (Telone), is expected to increase by up to 500%

A comparative study of solvent dynamics in Choline Bromide aqueous solution using combination of neutron scattering technique and molecular dynamics simulation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
A comparative study between Choline and Tetra-methyl ammonium bromide is presented here. Choline which is a crucial component for our dietary requirements causes many diseases if there is deficiency. We used combined approach of all-atom molecular dynamics simulation coupled with neutron scattering technique to study mainly the solvent behavior in this

The aqueous Triton X-100 - Dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide micellar mixed system. Experimental results and thermodynamic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The micellization process of the aqueous mixed system Triton X-100 (TX100)-Dodecyltrimethylammonium Bromide (DTAB) was studied with a battery of procedures: surface tension, static and dynamic light scattering and ion-selective electrodes. Results were also analysed with two thermodynamic procedures.

Hydrophobic Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) Design Enables Optimally Hydrated DES‐in‐Water Electrolytes for High‐Performance Bromine Redox‐Enhanced Energy Storage Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Faradaic charging with bromine redox chemistry shows promise for energy storage, yet its efficient use in aqueous electrolytes is hindered by water decomposition and polybromides' cross‐diffusion, leading to suboptimal cell performance. This study introduces a tetrabutylammonium bromide‐based hydrated deep eutectic electrolyte with optimized water ...

Smart worm-like micelles responsive to CO₂/N₂ and light dual stimuli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
CO₂/N₂ and light dual stimuli-reponsive worm-like micelles (WLMs) were obtained by addition of a relatively small amount of a switchable surfactant, 4-butyl-4´-(4-N,N-dimethylhexyloxy-amine) azobenzene bicarbonate (AZO-B6-CO₂), sensitive to the same ...

Studies of Bi-layers Growth Mechanism of Silver Bromide Molecular Clusters Prepared Via Electroporation of Vesicles and Quantum Confinement Effects Applications of Molecular Clusters [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Our previous work show that in the molecular cluster regime, the band blue shift associated with cluster growth can be understood by a model that assume electrons are confined to a spherical potential well and the clusters are made of some basic units. A formula is given for the lowest excited electronic state energy.
