Lipid Nanoparticles for Delivery of CRISPR Gene Editing Components

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
The review presents a comprehensive overview of each component of lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)and their effects on editing efficiency. It specifically highlights strategies for achieving non‐liver delivery, aiming for broader applications in gene editing. Furthermore, this review summarizes the applications of LNPs in gene editing and offers insights for ...

Development of a prognostic nomogram and genetic insights for prostate cancer patients with secondary primary malignancies: A SEER retrospective cohort study and Mendelian randomization analysis

open access: yesUroPrecision, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Prostate cancer (PCa) patients are at risk of developing second primary malignancies (SPMs), which can significantly shorten their survival. Understanding the risk of SPMs and associated factors is crucial to the optimization of patient follow‐up.

Resolution of a persistent pneumothorax by blood patch pleurodesis in a cat (Felis catus) with primary pulmonary lymphoma

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract An 18‐year‐old, spayed, female, domestic shorthair cat was presented to our hospital with acute dyspnoea following an episode of vomiting. Thoracic radiography revealed a severe pneumothorax. Despite multiple thoracocenteses, the pneumothorax persisted. Under general anaesthesia, computed tomography revealed multiple pulmonary masses.

Hilar Lymphadenectomy Is Associated With Improved Disease‐Free Survival in Pathologically N0 Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Aim of this study is to evaluate the prognostic role of nodal parameter in early stage pathologically patients with N0 who underwent lobectomy and lymphadenectomy. Clinical and pathological characteristics of patients who underwent anatomical lung resection from 1/01/2010 to 31/12/2019 were reviewed and retrospectively analyzed.

Beyond the numbers: Critical analysis of the role of postmortem tryptase in the forensic diagnosis of anaphylaxis

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract The postmortem diagnosis of anaphylaxis remains a forensic challenge due to the lack of specific external signs. Tryptase, a mast cell‐derived protease, has emerged as a potential biomarker for fatal anaphylaxis. This systematic review critically examined 40 studies published between 2014 and 2024, including both biochemical and ...

MUCOID IMPACTION OF THE BRONCHI

Australasian Annals of Medicine, 1957
SummarySeven cases illustrating the syndrome of mucoid impaction of bronchi are described. The syndrome seems to be confined to asthmatics. It may be clinically silent for long periods, or it may lead to bronchiectasis, pulmonary infection and hæmoptysis. Radiologically it may show both peripheral and hilar components. Diagnostically it may be confused
