Novel Tracheal Parameters Based on Quantitative Computed Tomography Assessment Reflecting Pulmonary Function and Eosinophilia in Patients With Asthma Who Demonstrate Persistent Airflow Obstruction: A Retrospective Observational Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims This study aimed to clarify relationships between tracheal parameters based on quantitative computed tomography (CT) assessment and clinical features in patients with chronic obstructive airway disease (COPD), asthma and COPD overlap (ACO), and asthma with persistent airflow obstruction.

Pneumothorax in an early phase after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

open access: yesHematology Reports, 2013
Pneumothorax is very rare after early phase of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and usually accompanied with pulmonary chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), such as bronchiolitis obliterans and bronchiolitis obliterans organizing ...

Obliterative bronchiolitis in rheumatoid arthritis (clinical case)

open access: yesСовременная ревматология, 2023
Obliterative (constrictive) bronchiolitis (OB) is a rare disease characterized by destruction of the bronchiolar epithelium and subsequent progressive airway obstruction. OB is most common in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) compared to other systemic rheumatic

The Reference Interval for the Attainment of Comparable Term Functional Levels of Pulmonary Oxygenation Capacity in Healthy Preterm Infants: A Single‐Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 60, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective We aimed to identify the reference interval (RI) of the postmenstrual age (PMA) at which lung oxygenation capacity is sufficiently stable in healthy preterm infants. Design and Setting A single‐center, retrospective study involving a cohort of infants born at gestational age (GA) < 34 weeks who were discharged without respiratory ...

Afatinib-induced bronchiolitis obliterans

open access: yesCurrent Problems in Cancer: Case Reports, 2023
We report a case of bronchiolitis obliterans (BO) due to afatinib treatment. A 42-year-old woman was diagnosed with stage IVB lung adenocarcinoma (cT1bN3M1c) positive for the L861Q mutation of EGFR and was treated with afatinib.

Health‐Related Quality of Life After Pediatric Lung Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 60, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric lung transplantation is a therapeutic option for children and adolescents with end‐stage lung disease. While it offers a chance to extend survival and improve physical health, the impact on health‐related quality of life (HRQOL) remains understudied.

Successful treatment of pulmonary injury after nitrogen oxide exposure with corticosteroid therapy: A case report and review of the literature

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine Case Reports, 2017
Nitrogen oxides are representative chemicals of occupational and environmental exposure, which can lead to fatal pulmonary injury. These oxides are also known to cause delayed occurrence of bronchiolitis obliterans (BO).

Efficacy and Safety of Combining r‐ATG With PTCy for GvHD Prophylaxis in Haploidentical HSC Transplantation for Malignancies—A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 29, Issue 11, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for haematological malignancies can cause acute and chronic graft‐versus‐host disease (GvHD), impacting graft success and mortality. Rabbit anti‐thymocyte globulin (r‐ATG) or post‐transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy) is effective in reducing GvHD in haploidentical‐HSCT.
