Mineralogical analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluids.

Zeitschrift fur Erkrankungen der Atmungsorgane, 1988
The analytical techniques routinely used for the mineralogical analysis of small particles, ranging from light microscopy (LM) to electron microscopy (EM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS), can be applied to evaluate the content of broncho-alveolar lavage (BAL) in various inorganic particles. The evaluation of the concentration of

Collagenase and Collagenase Inhibitors in Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluids

Chest, 1991
Collagenase, collagenolytic activity and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases were evaluated in bronchoalveolar lavage from 25 patients with hypersensitivity pneumonitis and four control subjects. Patients were followed between two and three years, after which they were classified as "healed," "improved," or "worsened." In control samples ...

Study of Immune Complexes in Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluids

Respiration, 2009
Immune complexes (IC) were investigated in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BAL) of 5 patients with hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), 11 with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and 16 with sarcoidosis (S) by three different methods: C1Q-BA, KgB, AKgB-MA. Using AKgB-MA, it is possible to identify the class of antibodies forming the IC.

[Proteins in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid].

Annales de biologie clinique, 1982
Bronchoalveolar washings contain proteins, the majority of which come from the serum by transduation. They may thus be quantified using classical immunological techniques involving commercial immune sera. The method of expression of the results varies from one author to another.

[Phospholipids in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid].

Annales de biologie clinique, 1982
Progress in recent years in knowledge of respiratory diseases has lead the clinician and laboratory worker to assess at an early stage the disturbances in metabolism of the pulmonary or alveolar tissue. The technique of bronchoalveolar washings (BAW) provides a sample of the alveolar film and opens up the possibility of its biochemical study.
