ELISA of complement C3a in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1992
Activated complement factors within the lung may induce several local biological effects. In order to investigate local complement activation we have developed non-competitive two-site ELISAs of C3a and total C3 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF).

Investigations of Black Bronchoalveolar Human Lavage Fluid

Chest, 1977
The removal by bronchoalveolar lavage (two occasions) of 10(11) black macrophages containing crystals of aluminum silicate, large amounts of amorphous carbon, and oxidized lipids was followed by considerable improvement in gas exchange in a patient. Sixty-eight percent of these pulmonary macrophages were viable and normal, as judged by chemotatctic and

Cloning of T Lymphocytes from Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid

American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology, 1992
We have prepared T-cell clones from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) from four healthy, nonsmoking persons and from four patients with allergic asthma. T cells were cloned by direct limiting dilution and with the use of a fluorescent activated cell sorter with an automated cell deposition unit. T-cell clones from the blood (PB) were prepared as well.

Cytologic findings of hematologic malignancies in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid

Journal of the American Society of Cytopathology, 2014
Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) is often performed in leukemia and lymphoma patients with pulmonary infiltrates, mainly to rule out infection. However, malignant hematopoietic infiltrates are uncommon and a comprehensive cytologic study has not yet been performed. We retrospectively reviewed all BAL samples from our institution for the past 22 years ...

Mineralogical analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluids.

Zeitschrift fur Erkrankungen der Atmungsorgane, 1988
The analytical techniques routinely used for the mineralogical analysis of small particles, ranging from light microscopy (LM) to electron microscopy (EM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS), can be applied to evaluate the content of broncho-alveolar lavage (BAL) in various inorganic particles. The evaluation of the concentration of
