A fully automated noncontrast CT 3‐D reconstruction algorithm enabled accurate anatomical demonstration for lung segmentectomy

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 13, Issue 6, Page 795-803, March 2022., 2022
Intraoperative observation of three example cases (Ac, Bc, Cc) and the 3D reconstruction by manual (Ab, Bb, Cb) and automated (Aa, Ba, Ca) approach. All structures were correctly reconstructed in Aa and Ba. The interlobular vein failed to be reconstructed in the automated reconstruction (Ba) and manual reconstruction (Bb). V7a was wrongly recognized as

Anatomical Sublobar Resection for Multi-Intersegmental Pulmonary Nodules. [PDF]

open access: yesThorac Cancer
Anatomical sublobar resection achieved a median surgical margin of 2.0 cm and preserved seven more subsegments than lobectomy without increasing air leak or postoperative hospital stay. In addition, anatomical sublobar resection yielded oncological outcomes comparable to lobectomy. ABSTRACT Background Anatomical sublobar resection (ASR) is non‐inferior

[Retracted] The Value of Transrectal Ultrasound in the Preoperative Diagnosis of Complex Anal Fistula (CAF): Based on a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesComputational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Objective. A case‐control study was employed to retrospectively analyze the value of transrectal ultrasound in the preoperative diagnosis of complex anal fistula (CAF). Methods. The clinical data of 128 patients with CAF treated in our hospital from March 2019 to June 2021 were analyzed retrospectively.

Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy‐guided dye marking to identify the subsegmental bronchus in thoracoscopic anatomic subsegmentectomy

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 12, Issue 20, Page 2819-2821, October 2021., 2021
We successfully performed a thoracoscopic right S2a segmentectomy with preoperative electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy (ENB)‐guided injection of methylene blue to identify the subsegmental bronchus. This ENB‐guided dye marking method may accurately distinguish the subsegmental bronchus to effectively guide surgery.

Glycemic control before admission is an important determinant of prognosis in patients with coronavirus disease 2019

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 12, Issue 6, Page 1064-1073, June 2021., 2021
Hemoglobin A1c was a significant independent risk factor associated with in‐hospital death of patients with coronavirus disease 2019. Severe pulmonary infection and consequent acute respiratory distress syndrome, but not extrapulmonary organ injuries, might be the primary cause of death in patients with insufficient glycemic control before admission ...

Bronchography with a New Water - Soluble Medium ( Dionosil ) and the Use of a Simple Technic [PDF]

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 1957
A simple technic of bronchography which can be carried out by the radiologist is described. Our experience with dionosil has been discussed. We believe the dionosil to be a satisfactory medium for bronchography.

Refractory secondary pneumothorax complicated with lung cancer treated by bronchial occlusion: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2020
Background Pneumothorax is defined as the presence of air or gas in the pleural cavity. Secondary pneumothorax usually occurs in patients with overt underlying lung disease, most commonly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Combination of nitrous oxide and the modified inflation‐deflation method for identifying the intersegmental plane in segmentectomy: A randomized controlled trial

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 12, Issue 9, Page 1398-1406, May 2021., 2021
1. A modified inflation‐deflation method is a simple technique for distinguishing the intersegmental demarcations. 2. Nitrous oxide is an inhaled anesthetic gas with high gas solubility, which could accelerate the process of lung collapse. 3. A combination of nitrous oxide and the modified inflation‐deflation method can quickly and accurately identify ...

Primary ciliary dyskinesia [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2004
In patients with chronic respiratory diseases that last since the early childhood, primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) needs to be considered. Four patients reviewed in this paper were with typical disease history and clinical picture, as well as clear ...

How far will minimally invasive thoracic surgery go? Uniportal video‐assisted thoracoscopic lingulectomy with 1 cm incision complicated by a mediastinal lingual artery: A case report

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 12, Issue 5, Page 703-706, March 2021., 2021
This is a report of a 36‐year‐old female with a ground‐glass nodule in the left lingual segment determined on computed tomography (CT) who successfully underwent 1 cm incision uniportal thoracoscopic lingulectomy. This procedure is technically safe and feasible in selected patients and produces better cosmetic results than traditional thoracoscopic ...
