Characterization of brookite thin film deposited by spin coating method with green sol-gel route [PDF]
Brookite thin film is one of the great interests as a photocatalyst for water treatment in photocatalytic applications. Brookite has several advantages, but its applicability has been mainly limited because of the inability to synthesize brookite in pure

Transient electric birefringence measurements are used to show that brookite titania nanorods dispersed in the apolar liquid butylbenzene possess a large permanent dipole moment of 516 debye (rod length: 39 nm, diameter: 4.1 nm). This dipole moment makes

To study the effect of nanoscale titanium dioxide (TiO2) on cell responses, we synthesized four modifications of the TiO2 (amorphous, anatase, brookite, and rutile) capable of keeping their physicochemical characteristics in a cell culture medium.

Charge Transport and Recombination in TiO2 Brookite-Based Photoelectrodes
The photoactivity of the stable nanosized TiO2 polymorphs is challenging for many advanced applications. In the present work, brookite TiO2 nanoparticles with two different shapes have been used as building blocks for the preparation of pure brookite ...

Influence of Brookite Impurities on the Raman Spectrum of TiO2 Anatase Nanocrystals
Synthesis of TiO2 anatase nanocrystals by hydrothermal methods often results in the formation of small quantities of brookite, which is difficult to eliminate by tuning the reaction conditions and is usually present in the final nanomaterial.

Synthesis and photocatalytic activity of small brookite particles by self-hydrolysis of TiOCl_2
The preparation of brookite particles was tried by self-hydrolysis of TiOCl_2 with HCl addition. When 0.1M TiOCl_2 solution was heated at 100°C by reflux method, the precipitate was obtained within 15min and was identified as brookite and anatase.

Brookite vs Anatase TiO2 in the Photocatalytic Activity for Organic Degradation in Water
Brookite is the least studied TiO2, and its photocatalytic activity higher or lower than that of anatase still remains unclear. In this work, three different model reactions have been used for the activity assessment. Phase-pure brookite and anatase were

Effect of Hydrothermal Treatment on Phase Composition of Titanium Dioxide Obtained by Ti(OC4H9)4 Hydrolysis [PDF]
The use of hydrothermal treatment of amorphous material obtained by hydrolysis of titanium tetra-butoxide provides a nanostructured mixture of anatase and brookite – photocatalytic active phases of titanium dioxide, which are characterized by resistance ...
