Laying the Groundwork for a Caseworker Engagement Questionnaire: Theoretical and Practice‐Oriented Reflections From a Nordic Welfare Context

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Engagement—defined as the quality of the collaborative relationship between caseworkers and families and level of involvement in case work—is essential for effective intervention in statutory social work. However, it is often challenged by inherent power imbalances and the involuntary nature of the setting.

Homo luzonensis and the role of homoplasy in the morphology of hominin insular species

open access: yesCladistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Homo luzonensis lived during the upper Pleistocene in the northern Philippines, east of the Wallace line. The few specimens attributed to this species show a mosaic of plesiomorphies for the genus Homo and apomorphies found in upper Pleistocene Homo species.

A New Spectral Class of Brown Dwarfs at the Bottom of the IMF in IC 348

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
In a previous study, we used James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to identify three new brown dwarfs in the center of a nearby star-forming cluster, IC 348.

CFO overconfidence, environmental violations, and firm performance. The moderating role of constituency statutes

open access: yesEuropean Management Review, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the relationship between Chief Financial Officer (CFO) overconfidence and firm performance through the lens of environmental violations and constituency statutes. Drawing on stakeholder and upper echelons theories, we find that firms with overconfident CFOs are more likely to commit environmental violations, which ...

Chasing Fish: 130 Years of Innovation, Displacement and Depletion in Scottish Fisheries

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rebuilding the depleted fisheries of the 21st century requires an understanding of past drivers of their decline. Despite Scotland's central role in the commercial exploitation of North Sea fisheries for over a century, associations between technological innovations, regulatory introductions and fishery landings have not previously been ...

A New Brown Dwarf Orbiting an M Star and an Investigation of the Eccentricity Distribution of Transiting Long-period Brown Dwarfs

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The orbital eccentricities of brown dwarfs encode valuable information on their formation and evolution history, providing insights into whether they resemble giant planets or stellar binaries.
