Trends in thunderstorm days, lightning activity, squalls and the environmental factors in Hong Kong
This study analyses trends in Hong Kong's convective weather using long‐term observer‐based and shorter‐term instrument‐based data. Annual thunderstorm days increased significantly by 1.9 days decade−1 in 1947–2024, notably in June–September, consistent with increasingly favourable warm‐season environments for thunderstorms.

Fates of the sub-stellar objects (FOSSO)
Context. Understanding the survival and orbital evolution of brown dwarf (BD) companions during the post-main-sequence (MS) evolution of their host stars has become increasingly important, especially following recent discoveries of substellar companions ...

Feared, revered, and politicized, wolves have long captured human imagination, and ignited fierce conservation conflicts. In the United States, the Endangered Species Act protects species at risk of extinction from human impacts. This far‐reaching legislation, which impacts development and state‐level wildlife management, has been fraught with legal ...

Formation of brown dwarfs and planets
Brown dwarfs and massive planets have similar structures, and there is probably an overlap in mass between the most massive planets and the lowest mass brown dwarfs.

Habitat selection of moose in Sweden in managed boreal forests with Pinus contorta and P. sylvestris
Human land use can take advantage of using exotic species to increase financial benefits. However, the use of exotic tree species might affect ecosystem functioning, potentially including the habitat use and movement behaviour of animals, modifying their ecological impact, and interactions with human land use.

The formation of brown dwarfs: observations
We review the current state of observational work on the formation of brown dwarfs, focusing on their initial mass function, velocity and spatial distributions at birth, multiplicity, accretion, and circumstellar disks.
