Tackling unbalanced datasets for yellow and brown rust detection in wheat [PDF]
This study evaluates the efficacy of hyperspectral data for detecting yellow and brown rust in wheat, employing machine learning models and the SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique) augmentation technique to tackle unbalanced datasets ...

Identification of Causal Agents of Rust of Saccharum spp. and Assessment of Resistance to Brown Rust in Erianthus arundinaceus Clones and Their Offspring [PDF]
Sugarcane rust diseases are caused by Puccinia melanocephala (brown rust) and Puccinia kuehnii (orange rust), and significantly threaten the sustainable and stable development of the global sugarcane industry.

Genome-Wide Association Mapping of Crown and Brown Rust Resistance in Perennial Ryegrass. [PDF]
A population of 239 perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) genotypes was analyzed to identify marker-trait associations for crown rust (Puccinia coronata f. sp. lolii) and brown rust (Puccinia graminis f. sp. loliina) resistance. Phenotypic data from field trials showed a low correlation (r = 0.17) between the two traits.

Spectral signature of brown rust and orange rust in sugarcane
Precision agriculture, making use of the spatial and temporal variability of cultivable land, allows farmers to refine fertilization, control field irrigation, estimate planting productivity, and detect pests and disease in crops.

Genetic analysis of rust resistance genes in global wheat cultivars: an overview [PDF]
Rust is the most devastating fungal disease in wheat. Three rust diseases, namely, leaf or brown rust caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks, stem or black rust caused by Puccinia graminis f. sp.

Machine learning approaches reveal genomic regions associated with sugarcane brown rust resistance. [PDF]
ABSTRACTSugarcane is an economically important crop, but its genomic complexity has hindered advances in molecular approaches for genetic breeding. New cultivars are released based on the identification of interesting traits, and for sugarcane, brown rust resistance is a desirable characteristic due to the large economic impact of the disease. Although

Changes in benzoxazinoid contents and the expression of the associated genes in rye (Secale cereale L.) due to brown rust and the inoculation procedure. [PDF]
Benzoxazinoids (BXs) are secondary metabolites with diverse functions, but are primarily involved in protecting plants, mainly from the family Poaceae, against insects and fungal pathogens. Rye is a cereal crop that is highly resistant to biotic stresses.

The brown fiber phenotype in cotton line SA-40 is linked to a missing Ty3-like retrotransposon upstream of the GhTT2_A07 [PDF]
IntroductionThe naturally brown colored fibers of some cottons exist in varying shades of brown. Linkage analyses have revealed up to six individual loci (Lc1–Lc6) for brown color and suggested a separate genetic basis for each color value of fibers.
