AAC Brown 18 is the first brown mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern.] hybrid variety developed using an improved Ogura cytoplasmic male sterility hybrid system at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada — Saskatoon Research and Development Centre (AAFC-SRDC). AAC Brown 18 has significantly higher (24%) yield than the check variety Centennial Brown.

In 1911 E. W. Brown conjectured that the family of long-periodic orbits in the Trojan case of the restricted problem of three bodies terminates in an asymptotic orbit that passes through the Langrangian point L3 for t=±∞. The paper refutes this conjecture analytically, thereby confirming the previously published numerical refutation by Henrard (1983).

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 2009Brown condiment mustard (Common Brown) has about 10% lower grain yield than oriental condiment mustard (yellow seeded), which both belong to the same species [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern.]. Yield improvements in brown condiment mustard are therefore of great importance.
