In the course of eight successive Brucella abortus experiments, 394 cows were followed by clinical, serological and bacteriological examinations. Cultures were made from vaginal swabs and colostrum at delivery and from 10 pools of lymph nodes or organs sampled at slaughter, about 6 weeks after calving.

Serological Survey of Bovine Brucellosis in Cameroon

A serological survey was carried out at the abattoir of Dschang (West Cameroon) from August 2002 to July 2003 in order to determine the prevalence of bovine brucellosis. Eight hundred and forty sera of cattle were examined for brucellosis by indirect ELISA (iELISA) and the rose bengal test (RBT).
