Sr/Na co-doped brushite coating on SiC–C/C with brushite seeds

Strontium/sodium (Sr/Na) co-doped brushite (SSCB) coatings were applied on SiC-modified carbon/carbon composites (SC) with undoped brushite seeds. Undoped brushite seeds were synthesised on SC by the microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, which facilitated the rapid formation of SSCB. SSCB coatings were prepared by an electrochemical deposition method.

Preparation of hydroxyapatite by the hydrolysis of brushite

The conversion of brushite (CaHPO2 · 2H2O; DCPD) into hydroxyapatite (HAp) by hydrolysis has been studied by separating the conversion process into two stages, i.e. the structural change of DCPD into HAp (1) and the subsequent compositional increase in Ca/P ratio of the HAp (II).

Brushite Boron Cement with Antibacterial Properties

Boron-containing brushite cements (B-BC) for bone grafting based on B-substituted β-tricalcium phosphate (B-TCP) have been developed. The phase composition and microstructure of B-BC have been studied. It is shown that the crystalline phase of brushite is formed as a result of hardening of cements.

Defluoridation of Drinking Water by Boiling with Brushite and Calcite

Existing methods for defluoridating drinking water involve expensive high technology or are slow, inefficient and/or unhygienic. Large Brushite Stone in a Dilated Prostatic Urethra

We report a rare case of a large brushite stone lodged in a dilated prostatic urethra. The patient had been asymptomatic except for an episode of hematuria and he underwent successful removal of the stone. The stone weighed 35 gm., had a concentric layered structure and was composed mainly of brushite.
