New differential characters for Orthotrichum rogeri Brid. (Orthotrichaceae, Bryopsida)

Gametangia distribution, leaf dimorphism and endostome ornamentation and position when dry are new characters that are proposed for a safer discrimination of Orthotrichum rogeri from related species. Additionally, an updated description is given, and, since the holotype is an incomplete specimen, a complementary epitype is designated.

Grimmia(Bryopsida, Grimmiaceae) in the Nepalese Khumbu Valley

In February 2000, a Grimmia collecting trip was made in the Nepalese Khumbu valley. Grimmia Hedw. is the most abundantly occurring moss genus in this area, and from Lukla (2866 m) up to Mt Everest base camp (5400 m) ten species were encountered. A key is presented. G.

Cinclidium stygium Sw. (Mniaceae, Bryopsida) in eastern Pyrenees

Cinclidium stygium Sw. is recorded for the first time in the Pyrenees (PyrénéesOrientales, France) which is a significant south-western extension of its known range, approximately 400 km. The new locality is described, and recommendations are made for conservation of the species.
