Antiplasmodial and leishmanicidal activity of biflavonoids from Indian Selaginella bryopteris
Phytochemistry Letters, 2008Abstract A series of eleven biflavonoids containing amentoflavone and hinokiflavone derivatives from the Indian medicinal herb Selaginella bryopteris has been investigated for their antiprotozoal activity using in vitro assays against the K1 strain of Plasmodium falciparum, Leishmania donovani, Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense and Trypanosoma cruzi ...

Isolation and sequence determination of tetrapeptide fromSelaginella bryopteris
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2013A simple and inexpensive paper chromatographic method was developed for the isolation of a small peptide from Selaginella bryopteris fronds. The content of peptides is low in most plants and the isolation and purification procedure is troublesome. This method may be used as a first step for the detection of small peptides in the plant extracts. De novo

Structurally Unique Biflavonoids from Selaginella chrysocaulos and Selaginella bryopteris
Chemistry & Biodiversity, 2006AbstractChemical investigation of Selaginella chrysocaulos from Northeast India yielded three new (i.e., 1–3) and two known biflavonoids. From Selaginella bryopteris, collected in the southern part of India, one new (11) and eleven known biflavonoids of the amentoflavone‐ and hinokiflavone‐type were isolated and identified.

Candidate genes of flavonoid biosynthesis in Selaginella bryopteris (L.) Baker identified by RNA-Seq
Functional and Integrative Genomics, 2018In the present study, de novo transcriptome analysis of Selaginella bryopteris in frond and root was performed to understand the regulation of flavonoid (FL) biosynthesis. High-quality data of 5.84 and 5.86 Gb was generated for frond and root, respectively, that assembled into 94,713 and 81,567 transcripts.

The Sporophyte and Sporeling of Bryopteris filicina (Sw.) Nees
The Bryologist, 1967The shoot-sporophyte relationship, sporophyte structure, and sporeling pattern of the liverwort Bryopteris filicina were studied in serial sections. As has been recorded for other members of the Lejeuneaceae, the sporophyte of B. filicina develops entirely within the enlarged calyptra. The foot is simple and lacks a collar.

EVALUATION OF SELAGINELLA BRYOPTERIS (L.) BAKER'S IMMUNOMODULATOR ACTIVITY ON ANIMAL MODELS
2017Abstract Selaginellabryopteris (L.) (family: Selaginaceae), commonly known as Sanjeevni, is a magical herb which has the power to cure any malady. Immunomodulatory activity studies in animal models included haematological and serological tests to determine humoral antibody titre, T-cell population tests, sheep erythrocyte agglutination method, and ...

Spatial distribution of Bryopteris filicina on tree trunks in the Selva Lacandona, Chiapas, Mexico
The Bryologist, 2007Abstract Spatial distribution is a critical component of population structure and reflects, depending on the scale, relationships between organisms and the biotic and abiotic environment, but has been poorly investigated in the case of bryophytes. The objective of this study was to describe the spatial distribution of Bryopteris filicina at two spatial
