Fertilization in the Bryozoa

Abstract Sperm release through the tentacles is observed in a number of gymnolaematous and stenolaematous bryozoans. It is concluded that cross-fertilization is possible in the marine bryozoans in general. The mode of fertilization in the phylactolaematous bryozoans remains unknown.
