5-Alkylresorcinol Derivatives from the Bryozoan Schizomavella mamillata: Isolation, Synthesis, and Antioxidant Activity

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2017
The chemical study of the bryozoan Schizomavella mamillata has led to the isolation of six new 5-alkylresorcinol derivatives, schizols A–F (1–6), whose structures were established by spectrocospic means.

UPPER FRASNIAN (UPPER DEVONIAN) BRYOZOANS IN PROXIMAL FACIES OF SOUTHERN BELGIUM

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2015
Seven bryozoan species are described from the shallow-water Aisemont and Lambermont formations (upper rhenana Conodont zone, upper Frasnian) in southern Belgium. The studied interval is situated between the lower and upper Kellwasser events.

Horizontal Transfer and Gene Loss Shaped the Evolution of Alpha-Amylases in Bilaterians

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2020
The subfamily GH13_1 of alpha-amylases is typical of Fungi, but it is also found in some unicellular eukaryotes (e.g., Amoebozoa, choanoflagellates) and non-bilaterian Metazoa.

New species of freshwater bryozoans Plumatella sibirica (Phylactolaemata), Western Siberia (Russia)

open access: yesVestnik MGTU, 2023
Western Siberia is the least studied region with respect to the distribution, ecology, and systematic composition of freshwater bryozoans. The collection of material on freshwater bryozoans of the West Siberian Plain was carried out as part of study of ...

Scotia Arc bryozoans from the LAMPOS expedition: a narrow bridge between two different faunas

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2005
The 78 bryozoan species collected by the German R/V “Polarstern” during the LAMPOS cruise in April 2002, encompassing the Scotia Arc archipelagos between Tierra del Fuego and the Antarctic Peninsula, were studied to discern the biogeographical patterns ...

Spatial and temporal variation of natural toxicity in cnidarians, bryozoans and tunicates in Mediterranean caves

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2005
The natural toxicity of cnidarians, bryozoans and tunicates in two caves was assessed using the Microtox® technique in spring and autumn. One cave was located in the Cabrera Archipelago (Balearic Islands) and the other in the Medes Islands (Catalan ...
