Cryptosporidiosis and Giardiasis in Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) [PDF]
Cryptosporidium spp. and Giardia duodenalis infect the gastrointestinal tracts of animals and humans. Both parasite groups are distributed worldwide and cause significant economic losses in animal productivity. Infected hosts presenting with and without clinical manifestations can eliminate infective forms of these protozoa, which are particularly ...

PosterPapillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) [PDF]
Cutaneous papillomatosis are common in the horse and in cattle and uncommon in other species. A large number of different papillomaviruses have been identified and each specie may be infected by different genotype. The authors describe the histopathological and electron microscopical findings of cutaneous papillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus ...

The world buffalo population is about 168 million, and it is still growing, in India, China, Brazil, and Italy. In these countries, buffalo genetic breeding programs have been performed for many decades. The occurrence of congenital malformations has caused a slowing of the genetic progress and economic loss for the breeders, due to the death of ...

Quantitative studies on spermatogenesis in buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) [PDF]
The qualitative behaviour of spermatogenetic cells and Sertoli cells in the buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) was studied by identifying 8 stages of the seminiferous epithelium cycle based on meiotic division and morphology as well as the position of more mature spermatids. To achieve better results, stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8 were sub-divided.

Characterization of Osteopontin gene of Bubalus bubalis
Osteopontin, a glycoprotein, is expressed in several tissues including the mammary gland. The gene has been reported to be associated with milk and its constituents in various livestock species. This gene was sequenced in buffalo and it coded for the protein of 280 amino acids with the conserved GRGDS domain.
