Serum LH concentrations in cyclic buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) [PDF]
Circulating LH levels of 14 Murrah buffaloes were determined by a double-antibody radioimmunoassay using an homologous bovine system. At the onset of oestrus, the mean peak circulating LH level was 20.80 +/- 3.43 (s.e.m.) ng/ml in the hotter months (June-August) and 21.24 +/- 0.98 ng/ml during the cooler months (October-December), values remaining high

In this study, a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome atlas of river and swamp buffalo, encompassing 12 tissues and 397,011 cells, is constructed. Differential expression analyses identify metabolic and secretory tissues and cell types that mediate the divergence of milk production.

Papillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)
Cutaneous papillomatosis are common in the horse and in cattle and uncommon in other species. A large number of different papillomaviruses have been identified and each specie may be infected by different genotype. The authors describe the histopathological and electron microscopical findings of cutaneous papillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus ...

Reversing the Trend: Year‐Round Grazing Promotes Species‐Rich Grasslands in Natura 2000 Sites
Representative landscapes from the studied management areas illustrating a mosaic of habitat types. All areas were managed with year‐round grazing cattle and/or horses. Photos illustrate the diversity of habitat types included in this study: Heath and dunes (top left), salt meadow (top right), dunes and heath (bottom left) and dry grassland and meadow (

Identification and Validation of Genus/Species-Specific Short InDels in Dairy Ruminants
Background Over the past thirty years, the identification of species-specific molecular markers has significantly advanced our understanding of genetic diversity in both plants and animals. Among these, short InDels have emerged as vital genomic features,

Rhabdomyolysis in water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)
Rhabdomyolysis is a myopathy characterized by severe acute myonecrosis with lysis of muscle cells and extravasation of its content into the bloodstream, causing a secondary renal failure and myoglobinuria. Case-reports have been documented in a wide range of wild or domestic animal species, but to our knowledge, no reports in water buffaloes (Bubalus ...
