Redefining Therapies for Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis: Synergistic Effects of Antimicrobial Peptides, Nanotechnology, and Computational Design

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 14, 10 April 2026.
Antimicrobial peptide (AMP)‐loaded nanocarriers provide a multifunctional strategy to combat drug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By enhancing intracellular delivery, bypassing efflux pumps, and disrupting bacterial membranes, this platform restores phagolysosome fusion and macrophage function.

Papillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2007
Cutaneous papillomatosis are common in the horse and in cattle and uncommon in other species. A large number of different papillomaviruses have been identified and each specie may be infected by different genotype. The authors describe the histopathological and electron microscopical findings of cutaneous papillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus ...

Fecal Material of Captive Wild Animals as Source of CAZymes With Application Potential

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 8, April 2026.
With the goal to identify a novel resource of enzymes, we tested for the potential of fecal metagenomes of captive wild animals to provide CAZymes. Our data show that CAZymes profiles differed between animals with varying gut physiology and diet, and that metagenomes of captive wild animals can be considered source of diverse CAZymes including rare and

Controlled Breeding in the Asiatic Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Biological Sciences, 1988
Recent developments in exogenous hormone therapy to control and facilitate breeding in domestic buffalo cows (B. bubalis) are reviewed. Oestrus in domestic animals was synchronized satisfactorily during the normal breeding season by both of the standard treatments with prostaglandins or progestagens initially developed for use in Bos taurus cattle ...

The Contrasting Role of Fire in Shaping Landscape Genetic Patterns of Small Mammals Across Two Islands

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We evaluated how landscape features, including fire, influence genetic connectivity for three small mammal species in northern Australian savannas. Using resistance surface modelling across two islands with contrasting disturbance regimes, we found that fire, rainfall, and topography affected gene flow in species‐ and scale‐specific ways.

Comparison of fluorescence polarization assay with Rose Bengal (RB) test and complement fixation tests for the diagnosis of buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) brucellosis in a high-prevalence area

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
The fluorescence polarisation assay (FPA) was evaluated for the serological diagnosis of bovine brucellosis in buffalo (Bubalus Bubalis) in southern Italy. This assay uses O-polysaccharide prepared from Brucella Abortus lipopolysaccharide conjugated with

Genomewide identification and annotation of SNPs in Bubalus bubalis

open access: yesGenomics, 2019
The present study was carried out to identify and annotate the genome wide SNPs in Murrah buffalo genome. A total of 21.2 million raw reads from 4 pooled female Murrah buffalo samples were obtained using restriction enzyme digestion followed by sequencing with Illumina Hiseq 2000.

Future‐Proofing Natura 2000 Through a Biocultural Approach

open access: yesConservation Letters, Volume 19, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT The Natura 2000 sites of the European Union form the largest protected area network globally and are widely considered a conservation success. However, many Natura 2000 sites are not in a favorable conservation status, and support by policy and society has often been low.

Cervical mucus proteomics approach for swamp buffalo secreted fertility biomarker identification

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Research
Reproductive efficiency in swamp buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) remains constrained by the lack of molecular tools to identify fertile females before service. The aim of this study was to discover biologically grounded biomarkers of fertility.

Genomic Prediction and Genome‐Wide Association Analysis of Heat Tolerance for Milk Yield in Buffaloes Using a Reaction Norm Model

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 143, Issue 2, Page 342-353, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of incorporating genomic information on the estimation of genetic (co)variance components and the accuracy of breeding values for milk yield under varying thermal environments, and to identify SNPs associated with genes that play significant roles in heat tolerance.
