Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Tough, Ductile, and Strong Hard‐Soft Cementitious Composite Enabled by Multi‐Material Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

Mesoscopic modeling the interaction of two attached-wall cavitation bubbles

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
A hybrid thermal lattice Boltzmann cavitation model based on a nonorthogonal framework is developed to investigate the interaction of two attached-wall cavitation bubbles. The interaction modes are systematically analyzed, with an emphasis on how varying

Digital Microneedles for Multiplexed Transdermal Sensing via Fluorescent QR Codes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Digital fluorescent microneedles encode biochemical information in skin into scannable QR codes through threshold‐activated probes that generate binary on/off signals. By transforming analog fluorescence into discrete digital patterns, this platform enables calibration‐free, multiplexed transdermal sensing of physiologically relevant biomarkers ...

Molecular dynamic simulation of bubble nucleation in a nanochannel with a groove

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Molecular dynamics methods are used to investigate the effect of wall wettability and initial fluid density on the nucleation and growth of nanobubbles in a nanochannel with a groove.

Signatures of Edge States in Antiferromagnetic Van der Waals Josephson Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The combination of superconductivity and magnetic textures leads to unconventional superconducting phenomena, including new correlated and topological phases. Van der Waals (vdW) materials emerge as a versatile platform for exploring the interplay between these two competing orders.

Super‐Resolution Ultrasound Based Cell Tracking With Polymeric Nanobubbles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a super‐resolution ultrasound platform for tracking cells in vivo. Biocompatible polymeric nanobubbles are used as highly echogenic intracellular labels. Following the injection of cells and microbubbles, ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) can dynamically match the microvascular architecture and individual cell trajectories ...

A Numerical Investigation on the Equivalence of Shock−Wave/ Boundary-Layer Interactions using a Two Equations RANS Model

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2021
A detailed numerical investigation of two different modes of shock wave-turbulent boundary layer interaction (SWBLI) is presented. Equivalence of ramp induced SWBLI (R-SWBLI), and impingement shock based SWBLI (I-SWBLI) is explored from the computational

Bubble wall velocity from Kadanoff-Baym equations: fluid dynamics and microscopic interactions

open access: yes
We establish a first principles, systematic framework for determining the bubble wall velocity during a first order cosmological phase transition. This framework, based on non-local Kadanoff-Baym equations, incorporates both macroscopic fluid dynamics and microscopic interactions between the bubble wall and particles in the plasma.

All‐Polyimide‐Mediated Liquid Metal Assembly on Aerogels for Breathable and Robust Electronic Skins

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐polyimide‐mediated assembly strategy resolves the fundamental conflict between physiological breathability and electromechanical robustness in wearable electronics. By integrating a polyamic acid‐encapsulated liquid metal ink onto an ultralight polyimide aerogel, imidization‐induced contraction enables low‐temperature conductive activation and ...
