Experimental study on solution and diffusion process of single carbon dioxide bubble in seawater

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2016
Solution and diffusion process of carbon dioxide (CO2) in seawater is important in the research and development of CO2 ocean sequestration technology to mitigate global warming.

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Is Bitcoin a bubble?

open access: yesPhysica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2019
The narrative of a Bitcoin is a bubble is very common. We employ statistical techniques to empirically evaluate such claim. A branch of literature links the existence of a bubble in some financial asset’s price to strict local martingales — a finitely ...

Shapes and paths of an air bubble rising in quiescent liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Shapes and paths of an air bubble rising inside a liquid are investigated experimentally. About three hundred experiments are conducted in order to generate a phase plot in the Galilei and Eotvos numbers plane, which separates distinct regimes in terms ...

Distributions of bubble lifetimes and bubble lengths in DNA [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2020
We investigate the distribution of bubble lifetimes and bubble lengths in DNA at physiological temperature, by performing extensive molecular dynamics simulations with the Peyrard-Bishop-Dauxois (PBD) model, as well as an extended version (ePBD) having a sequence-dependent stacking interaction, emphasizing the effect of the sequences' guanine-cytosine (

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Investigation of Recirculating Marangoni Flow in Three-Dimensional Geometry of Aqueous Micro-Foams

open access: yesFluids, 2023
Experimental investigations of Marangoni flow in micro-foams have faced challenges due to the inherent difficulties in detecting and measuring this flow.

Digital Cognitive Phenotyping for Differential Diagnosis and Monitoring in Neurological Conditions

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To assess the utility, accessibility, and equivalence to supervised scales of online cognitive assessment in older individuals with cognitive impairment. Methods Patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD, n = 31), idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH, n = 26), and traumatic brain injury (TBI, n = 23) completed online cognitive ...

Integrated PANoptosis Profiling Identifies Immunosuppressive Subtypes and a Prognostic Signature With Functional Validation of MLKL in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The prognosis of glioblastoma (GBM) remains highly unfavorable, largely due to high tumor heterogeneity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment. However, the functional role of PANoptosis in this context is poorly understood. Methods Patients were stratified via K‐means clustering. A risk score model was constructed using prognosis‐
