Numerical simulation of a collapsing bubble subject to gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
© 2016 AIP Publishing LLC. The present paper focuses on the simulation of the expansion and aspherical collapse of a laser-generated bubble subjected to an acceleration field and comparison of the results with instances from high-speed videos.

Numerical simulations for matter transport by the interaction between bubbles and pressure waves near tissue boundaries

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology
The interaction between bubbles and tissues (bone and fat) in ultrasound and the mechanism of drug transport accompanied by bubble collapse were investigated numerically by using the ghost fluid methods with zonal grids.

Self‐Refreshing Bi‐Based Active Sites for Efficient and Durable Electrochemical CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐refreshing Bi‐based catalyst is developed through the fabrication of a novel basic bismuth nitrate pre‐catalyst, which exhibits differential active sites of Bi2O2CO3 at low potentials and metallic Bi phases at high potentials, self‐repairing capability, and thus wide‐potential‐window efficiency and ultralong durability toward electrochemical CO2

Photothermal Macroporous Lignin Cryogels for Off‐Grid, Continuous Atmospheric Water Collection via Interlayer Heat Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.

Diffuse interface modeling of a radial vapor bubble collapse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A diffuse interface model is exploited to study in details the dynamics of a cavitation vapor bubble, by including phase change, transition to supercritical conditions, shock wave propagation and thermal conduction.

Investigation of restricted bubble dynamics between double cylinders [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fluid Engineering
This paper investigates restricted bubble dynamics between double cylinders. Typical bubble collapse phenomena between double cylinders are explored qualitatively through high-speed photographic experiments.

Engineering a Sonotherapeutic RBC Membrane‐Derived Nanoparticle Platform for the Treatment of Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...

Effects of Bulk Viscosity in Non-linear Bubble Dynamics

open access: yes, 2003
The non-linear bubble dynamics equations in a compressible liquid have been modified considering the effects of compressibility of both the liquid and the gas at the bubble interface.
