Real-time simulation of deformable bubble underwater
2009 IEEE Youth Conference on Information, Computing and Telecommunication, 2009Deforming bubbles under water are important phenomena that we always encounter in our daily lives. In this paper, we present a real-time bubble simulation framework based on shallow water simulation(SWS), spherical vortex and boundary element method(BEM). We first solve the shallow water equations to simulate the water volume and the free surface.

Resonances of deformed gas bubbles in liquids
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994A T-matrix expansion technique has been used to investigate the monopole acoustical resonances of bubbles deformed into elongated axisymmetric objects (specifically: prolate spheroids and cylinders with hemispherical endcaps). The bubbles are modeled as air-filled inclusions in water.

Detailed experiments on weakly deformed cavitation bubbles
Experiments in Fluids, 2019We present high-precision experiments conducted with the aim to better characterise weak deformations of single cavitation bubbles. Using two needle hydrophones and a high-speed photodetector, we record the timings of shock waves and luminescence emitted at the collapse of laser-induced bubbles and are able to thereby obtain a precise measurement of ...

Bubble deformation in high‐velocity gas injection
The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 1982AbstractWhen pressurised gas is injected into liquid at high velocity, the bubbles of dispersion are not exactly spherical as normally assumed in theory. High speed photographs of the dispersion show that the bubbles are spheroidal and distinctly prolate in the direction of gas flow.A mechanism of bubble deformation based on the dissipation of the ...

Surface mode deformations on an oscillating bubble
1994It is well known that if either a sinusoidal pressure disturbance or a simple pressure difference is imposed on a simply connected bubble, then the bubble surface will be forced into motion, oscillating nonlinearly about an equilibrium position and surface deformations soon set in.

Bubble deformation in nucleate boiling
2014Various aspects of boiling bubble deformation and oscillation have been examined or re-examined with an EulerLagrange approach. Anisotropic bubble deformation is easily converted into the acoustically powerful isotropic breathing mode. The structure of the added mass matrix involved explains this conversion.
