Reply [to “Comment on “Dynamics and energetics of bubble growth in magmas: Analytical formulation and numerical modeling” by A. A. Proussevitch and D. L. Sahagian”] [PDF]
We have developed a model of diffusive and decompressive growth of a bubble in a finite region of melt which accounts for the energetics of volatile degassing and melt deformation as well as the interactions between magmatic system parameters such as ...

This article demonstrates the successful qualification of a copper–tungsten composite for laser powder bed fusion. The resulting components exhibited high density, high thermal conductivity, and reduced thermal expansion. Heat sinks with complex geometries were successfully manufactured, clearly showcasing the material's potential for additive ...

Viscosity of magmas containing highly deformable bubbles [PDF]
Abstract The shear viscosity of a suspension of deformable bubbles dispersed within a Newtonian fluid is calculated as a function of the shear rate and strain. The relative importance of bubble deformation in the suspension is characterized by the capillary number (Ca), which represents the ratio of viscous and surface tension stresses. For small Ca,

Vortex Nucleation Induced Phonon Radiation from a Moving Electron Bubble in Superfluid 4He
We construct an efficient zero-temperature semi-local density functional to dynamically simulate an electron bubble passing through superfluid 4He under various pressures and electric fields up to nanosecond timescale. Our simulated drift velocity can be

This study elucidates the mechanism of compressible flow exfoliation for producing 2D hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN). Fluid dynamics analysis reveals that acceleration‐driven aerodynamic shear forces, rather than shock waves alone, drive effective layer separation.

The oscillations of non-spherical bubbles in liquid
In this paper, the interaction between non-spherical bubbles is studied using a high-speed camera, and the effects of the interaction on the temperature within the bubble and the velocity of the surrounding fluid are theoretically investigated.

Instruments and methods: a case study of ice core bubbles as strain indicators
Measurements of a sample from ~580 m depth in the WAIS Divide (WDC06A) ice core reveal that bubbles are preferentially elongated in the basal plane of their parent grain, as expected if bubble shape preserves the record of dominant basal glide.

Research on Deformation Characteristics of Single Bubble [PDF]
The rising behavior of single bubble is investigated in 0.134Eo 8.588; 0.82We 4.83 and 0.5Ta 3.6 by means of CLSVOF method and CSF model. The new empirical relations are obtained by comparing experimental data, simulated data and the empirical relations of scholars. The three formulas can describe the bubble deformation more accurate.

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐
