Theoretical study on the movements of bubbles

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
The radial and translational motions of multiple interacting spherical bubbles are obtained using classical Newton mechanics. It is seen that bubbles not only move in straight line, but also in circular motion.

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Spherical Solutions of an Underwater Explosion Bubble

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1998
The evolution of the 1D explosion bubble flow field out to the first bubble minimum is examined in detail using four different models. The most detailed is based on the Euler equations and accounts for the internal bubble fluid motion, while the simplest

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

The dynamics of a gas bubble in liquid near a rigid surface

open access: yes, 2018
The axisymmetric dynamics of a gas bubble in liquid near a plane rigid surface (wall) during its expansion and subsequent compression with the transition to the toroidal phase of motion has been studied.

Vorticity‐Driven µ‐Platelet Rotation and Selective Packing for Vertical Thermal–Electrical Interconnects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a capillary‐filtering‐based particle‐filling (CFPF) process that simultaneously forms vertical thermal pathways and electrical vias within µ‐pores. In situ microfluidic analysis reveals that capillary‐driven velocity gradients generate vorticity that governs µ‐platelet rotation and vertical alignment.

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

An experimental investigation into the correlation between Acoustic Emission (AE) and bubble dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Bubble and cavitation effects phenomena can be encountered in two-phase gas-liquid systems in industry. In certain industries, particularly high-risk systems such as a nuclear reactor/plant, the detection of bubble dynamics, and the monitoring and ...
