Experimental Investigation of Rising Gas Bubble Characteristics from a Vertical Tube under CCFL Condition

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, 2012
This paper describes an experimental study of gas/liquid countercurrent flow in a vertical circular tube. CCFL experiments were carried out with three different water levels in the upper plenum, two different tube diameters.

Formation of Small Bubbles in an Electric Field

open access: yesSeparation Science and Technology, 1995
The formation of gas bubbles injected into an insulating liquid was studied under the influence of a nonuniform electric field. The electrode configuration used consisted of a charged capillary opposite a grounded ring, and gas bubbles were formed at the capillary tip.

Model for the Formation of Helium Bubbles in Palladium

open access: yesCroatica Chemica Acta, 2013
In implantation experiments or in the inner wall of the vessel of nuclear reactors, irradiation of metals with helium damages the material by forming defects. We focus on studying the formation of He bubbles by analyzing the energetics of He atoms in bulk palladium and present a simple model for bubble formation.

Polarization‐Dependent Synaptic‐Like Electro‐Optical Response in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) offer fast, tunable polarization and low‐voltage operation but suffer from poor polarization retention at zero field. Semiconductor‐modified FNLCs enhance polarization retention and exhibit short‐ and long‐term electro‐optical responses, while also supporting spike‐type signal integrations.

MODELLING OF BUBBLE FORMATION WITH THE AID OF CFD

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2004
Results of a numerical simulation of the bubble formation process obtained with the aid of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach are presented. A solution of the momentum balance (Navier-Stokes) equations was coupled with the volume of fluid (VOF)

Halide Perovskite Integrated Photovoltaic Cathodes Incorporating Pt on ZIF‐8‐Derived Carbon for Solar Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A low‐Pt catalyst supported on zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF‐8)‐derived porous carbon and graphite is integrated with a halide perovskite photovoltaic, yielding cathodes that achieve a high photocurrent density (∼20 mA cm−2) under simulated sunlight and exhibit remarkable stability in acidic media over several days, thereby demonstrating a ...
