Very High‐Frequency Oscillations in Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy: Identifying the Epileptogenic Zone

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the reliability of very high‐frequency oscillations (VHFOs, 500–2000 Hz) as biomarkers in identifying the epileptogenic zone (EZ) in mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) patients. Methods We reviewed 19 MTLE patients who underwent stereo‐electroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation.

Bubbling the NHEK [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
AbstractWe build the first family of smooth bubbling microstate geometries that are asymptotic to the near-horizon region of extremal five-dimensional Kerr black holes (NHEK). These black holes arise as extremal non-supersymmetric highly-rotating D1-D5- P solutions in type IIB string theory on T4×S1.

Bubbly Liquidity [PDF]

open access: yesThe Review of Economic Studies, 2011
This paper analyzes the possibility and the consequences of rational bubbles in a dynamic economy where financially constrained firms demand and supply liquidity. Bubbles are more likely to emerge, the scarcer the supply of outside liquidity and the more limited the pledgeability of corporate income; they crowd investment in (out) when liquidity is ...

Effect of hydrogen implantation at high temperature on the microstructural evolution of vanadium alloys

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The microstructure evolution of V-4Cr,V-4Ti and V-4Cr-4Ti alloys was studied before and after hydrogen implantation at 500℃. Before hydrogen implantation the matrix of V-4Cr alloy is clean, while parallel and vertical needle-like precipitates exist in the

Nuttier Bubbles

open access: yes, 2005
We construct new explicit solutions of general relativity from double analytic continuations of Taub-NUT spacetimes. This generalizes previous studies of 4-dimensional nutty bubbles. One 5-dimensional locally asymptotically AdS solution in particular has

Threshold Values of Sleep Spindles Features in Healthy Adults Using Scalp‐EEG and Associations With Sleep Parameters

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Sleep spindles are an electrophysiological fingerprint of the sleeping human brain. They can be described in terms of duration, frequency, amplitude, and density, and vary widely according to age and sex. Spindles play a role in sleep and wake functions and are altered in several neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Bubble baryogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2012
We propose an alternative mechanism of baryogenesis in which a scalar baryon undergoes a percolating first-order phase transition in the early Universe. The potential barrier that divides the phases contains explicit B and CP violation and the corresponding instanton that mediates decay is therefore asymmetric.

Distribution characteristic and formation process of bubbles in foaming slag in a converter

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
Foaming slags at the top at the beginning of deslaggging, in the lower portion at the end of deslagging, and at the bottom after deslagging were taken with a sample scoop at the end of dephosphorization in the converter slag-remaining and double-slag ...

Development and Validation of a One‐Dimensional Finite Difference Simulation Scheme for Polymer Laser Powder Bed Fusion with Application to the Effect of the Inter Layer Time

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents an efficient simulation approach for the polymer laser powder bed fusion process polymers process, validated with polyamide 12, polyamide 6, and polyetherketoneketone. It shows that inter layer time affects part density, with 90s yielding dense parts.

Mechanisms of Increasing Weld Depth during Temporal Power Modulation in High‐Power Laser Beam Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Temporal power modulation increases weld depth in high‐power laser beam welding of dissimilar round bars by nearly 20% compared to same average continuously welded welding power. The mechanism of action also applies to sheet welding and depends on the inertia of keyhole depth for the modulated laser beam power.
