Bubble properties of heterogeneous bubbly flows in a square bubble column [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
The present work focuses on the measurements of bubble properties in heterogeneous bubbly flows in a square bubble column. A four-point optical fibre probe was used for this purpose. The accuracy and intrusive effect of the optical probe was investigated first.

Review-Physicochemical hydrodynamics of gas bubbles in two phase electrochemical systems.

open access: yesJournal of the Electrochemical Society, 2017
Electrochemical systems suffer from poor management of evolving gas bubbles. Improved understanding of bubbles behavior helps to reduce overpotential, save energy and enhance the mass transfer during chemical reactions. This work investigates and reviews

Dimensionless Investigations on Energy Conversion and Analysis of Interlayer Time in Laser‐Based Powder Bed Fusion of Polymers for Polyamide 12 with Nanoadditives and Polypropylene

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the energy conversion in powder bed fusion of polymers using laser beam for polyamide 12 and polypropylene powders. It combines material and process data, using dimensionless parameters and numerical models, to enable the prediction of suitable printing parameters.

Features of detonation wave dynamics in bubbly liquid on the border "hydroglyceric solution - oil"

open access: yesИзвестия Томского политехнического университета: Инжиниринг георесурсов, 2017
Relevance. Liquid with bubbles of a combustible mixture of gases (water with bubbles of explosive gas or a mixture of hydrocarbons with oxygen) is an explosive in which a detonation soliton with an amplitude up to 100 atm can appear when a pressure pulse

The Fermi Bubbles as a Scaled-up Version of Supernova Remnants

open access: yes, 2013
In this study, we treat the Fermi bubbles as a scaled-up version of supernova remnants (SNRs). The bubbles are created through activities of the super-massive black hole (SMBH) or starbursts at the Galactic center (GC).

Enhanced Fog Water Harvesting on Superhydrophobic Steel Meshes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Fog harvesting using mesh designs offers a sustainable solution to water scarcity. This study highlights key considerations for fog harvesting research and develops a methodology for a standardized protocol reflecting fog characteristics and environmental conditions.

Evidence of a temperature transition for denuded zone formation in nanocrystalline Fe under He irradiation

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2017
Nanocrystalline materials are radiation-tolerant materials’ candidates due to their high defect sink density. Here, nanocrystalline iron films were irradiated with 10 keV helium ions in situ in a transmission electron microscope at elevated temperatures.

Coalescence Avalanches in Liquid Aluminum Foams

open access: yesMetals, 2017
Coalescence is the rupture of a film between two adjacent bubbles in any type of liquid foam and has pronounced influence on the development of its macrostructure after solidification, mostly leading to larger pores and a wider size distribution ...

A New Mechanism for Bubble Nucleation: Classical Transitions

open access: yes, 2009
Given a scalar field with metastable minima, bubbles nucleate quantum mechanically. When bubbles collide, energy stored in the bubble walls is converted into kinetic energy of the field.
