As Foucault’s ironic approach to history is to suggest that looking at our past can help us to change the future, I contend that connections make the best disruptions.

In this study, a theoretical model for prediction of bubbling regimes in bubble formation from a single submerged orifice has been developed. The model takes into account both chamber pressure fluctuations, and bubble–bubble and bubble–wall interactions on bubbling regimes.

Bubble mass transfer is a common phenomenon in industrial applications. In this paper, bubble dynamics in both still and turbulent flow were introduced first, followed by the mass transfer properties of a single bubble and bubble swarms.

Machine-Learned Free Energy Surfaces for Capillary Condensation and Evaporation in Mesopores
Using molecular simulations, we study the processes of capillary condensation and capillary evaporation in model mesopores. To determine the phase transition pathway, as well as the corresponding free energy profile, we carry out enhanced sampling ...

Control of bubble size and bubble number in bubble electrospinning
AbstractThe surface tension of a bubble depends upon its size; a smaller bubble requires a smaller electronic force for fabrication of ultrafine fibers using bubble electrospinning. The electronic field triggers rupture of interacted bubbles to form daughter bubble cascades, so a very low voltage is needed for nanofiber fabrication.

Heat load and deuterium plasma effects on SPS and WSP tungsten
Tungsten is a prime choice for armor material in future nuclear fusion devices. For the realization of fusion, it is necessary to address issues related to the plasma–armor interactions. In this work, several types of tungsten material were studied, i.e.

PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING HYDRAULIC JET BARBOTTER RESISTANCE FOR COLLECTING FINE DUST
North Caucasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (State Technological University) has developed a design of a jet bubbler which is based on the patented design of the device main unit – a distribution plate, which allows to implement a foam mode in the

In this paper, the extended finite element method (XFEM) is first applied to account for the weak discontinuity of the axisymmetric electrostatic field. Firstly, the interface between two materials in an element is described by the level set method.

Bubbles Tomorrow and Bubbles Yesterday, but Never Bubbles Today? [PDF]
Considering their importance and the amount of effort that has gone into understanding them, asset price bubbles continue to perplex. The evidence of these bubbles seldom squares with what would be expected from standard asset price theory. Unlike the suggestions from theory, expectations of prices of both stocks and houses tend to be procyclical—price

Housing Price Bubble: The Case of Beijing
Beijing’s real estate market, a key part of China’s economy, plays a crucial role in the nation’s development. Any downturn or collapse in housing prices in the city would have severe consequences for both the real estate sector and the broader economy ...
