Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

Bubble convection and bubbly flow turbulent time and length scales in two-dimensional plunging jets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Air entrainment and air-water mixing by a flow impingement are enhanced by the turbulent shear layer and associated instabilities in the receiving waterbody.

Bubbly jet impingement in different liquids [PDF]

open access: yes
The impingement of bubbly jets in distilled water and ethanol has been experimentally studied on ground. An experimental apparatus for the study of jet impingement on ground and inmicrogravity has been designed.

Bubble nucleation and jetting inside a millimetric droplet

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Mechanics, 2023
In this work we present experiments and simulations on the nucleation and successive dynamics of laser-induced bubbles inside liquid droplets in free-fall motion, i.e. a case where the bubbles are subjected to the influence of a free boundary in all directions.

Simultaneous 3D Lagrangian Particle Tracking of bubbles and fluid tracer particles in a bubbly water jet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The experimental investigation of two-phase flows by means of particle-based optical field measurement techniques like PIV or Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) pose significant challenges.

A Direction‐Aware Piezo‐Transmittance Strain Sensor via Engineered Alignment of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs)

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A direction‐aware piezo‐transmittance strain sensor is realized through the engineered alignment of carbon nanotubes. This anisotropic architecture instantaneously modulates optical transmittance, achieving ultra‐high sensitivity and exceptionally low hysteresis. By effectively eliminating signal crosstalk to precisely decouple multidirectional strains,

Bubble Tracking Velocimetry for a Liquid Jet

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Design
A Separate Effect Facility (SEF-POOL) was designed to measure the time-averaged momentum induced by steam injection into a subcooled water pool. Recent analysis of large-scale pool data has shown that the turbulence generated by the steam injection affects not only velocity field in the vicinity of the steam injection point but also integral pool ...
