Development and Characterization of Mucoadhesive Film of Nitrendipine for Buccal Administration

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nano Studies & Technology, 2013
Mucoadhesive buccal patches containing nitrendipine were prepared using the solvent casting method. Chitosan was used as bio-adhesive polymer and different ratios of chitosan to PVP K-30 were used. The pre-formulation study using DSC revealed the compatibility of drug and polymer.

CGRP‐Loaded ROS‐Responsive Hydrogel Restores Neuro‐Angiogenic Signaling to Promote Bone Regeneration in Diabetes‐Associated Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that diabetes damages sensory nerve fibers, especially CGRP‐positive ones, in the periodontium and disrupts autophagy in trigeminal ganglion neurons, affecting bone homeostasis by inhibiting type H vessel formation. To address this, CGRP@PVA/tsPBA hydrogels are developed to release CGRP in response to ROS, which binds to endothelial ...

Preparation and Characterization of a Novel Mucoadhesive Carvedilol Nanosponge: A Promising Platform for Buccal Anti-Hypertensive Delivery

open access: yesGels, 2022
Carvedilol (CRV) is a non-selective third generation beta-blocker used to treat hypertension, congestive heart failure and angina pectoris. Oral administration of CRV showed poor bioavailability (25%), which might be ascribed to its extensive first-pass ...

Dual‐Pedicle Tissue‐Engineered Trachea Promotes Biomimetic Cartilaginous Framework, Vascularization, and Epithelial Lining for Long‐Segment Tracheal Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Overcoming the limitations of conventional grafts, a biomimetic trachea with two independent vascular pedicles enables rapid integration and sustained patency. This approach markedly improves survival rates, restores the epithelial barrier, and promotes regenerative pathways, presenting a transformative paradigm for clinical application.
