Discovery of Bucculatrix koreana sp. nov. and newly recorded Bucculatrix duanwuia (Lepidoptera: Bucculatricidae) in Korea

Zootaxa
In this study, we describe a new species, Bucculatrix koreana sp. nov., and report B. duanwuia Liu, 2020, for the first time in Korea. Adults and genitalia of both species are illustrated. Additionally, we provide and discuss DNA barcode sequences for Bucculatrix species known from Korea.

Systematics and phylogeny of the genus Bucculatrix (Lepidoptera: Bucculatricidae) with special attention to larval mode of life and trophic relationships

open access: yesProceedings of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2008
The hypotheses concerning position of the family Bucculatricidae in the modern lepidopteran classifications are shortly reviewed. The phylogenetic analysis of the genus Bucculatrix was carried out with maximum parsimony approach. Monophyly of the genus is supported by 5 synapomorphies.

Genetic divergence of isolated populations of the native micromoth Bucculatrix mirnae (Lepidoptera: Bucculatricidae) in the arid environments of Northern Chile

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2017
Analysis of maternally inherited genes is especially helpful in population studies of host-specialized insects, as female dispersal is key to find an adequate host plant to ensure larval survival. Bucculatrix mirnae (Lepidoptera: Bucculatricidae) is a little-known Neotropical micromoth native to the arid environments of northern Chile whose ...

A new species and a new record of the genus Bucculatrix Zeller, 1839 (Lepidoptera: Bucculatricidae) from Korea

Zootaxa
In the present study, a new species, Bucculatrix bipuncticosta sp. nov. is described as new to science. Also, B. comporabile Seksjaeva, 1989, is reported for the first time from Korea. The external morphology and genital structures of them are described and illustrated in detail. In addition, mitochondrial COI DNA barcodes were extracted to analyze and

Morphological differentiation of closely related species of the genus Bucculatrix Zeller, 1839 (Lepidoptera, Bucculatricidae) with an analysis of their distribution and mechanisms of reproductive isolation

Entomological Review, 2016
Morphological studies of the representatives of the genus Bucculatrix Zeller, 1839 from the gnaphaliella, albedinella, frangutella, bechsteinella, cidarella, and ulmella species-groups revealed numerous pairs of closely related and almost indistinguishable species. Their delimitation is only possible by the tiny differences in the genitalia structures,
