Soft switched ac link buck boost converter
2008 Twenty-Third Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2008A novel soft switching high frequency link converter for medium and high power ac-ac and ac-dc applications is proposed. The proposed topology overcomes the shortcomings of conventional dc and ac link schemes and uses 12 bidirectional switches for a three phase to three phase configuration.

The buck boost dc to dc converter
2006A switch is shown which operates at a rather high frequency (in the region of 20 kHz) and its duty-cycle sets the magnitude of the output voltage. The inductor is alternately connected to the dc supply and then across the output via the diode. The circuit configuration allows the inductor to charge and store energy.
