A comparison between the buck, boost and buck-boost inverters

7th IEEE International Power Electronics Congress. Technical Proceedings. CIEP 2000 (Cat. No.00TH8529), 2002
In this paper, an analysis and experimental study of three kinds of inverters are presented. Beginning with the traditional full-bridge buck inverter; followed by two different inverter approaches, the boost and buck boost ones. These last two converters have the property of producing an output voltage higher or lower than the input voltage ...

Bidirectional buck-boost cascade inverter

2015 International Conference on Technological Advancements in Power and Energy (TAP Energy), 2015
This paper presents modelling and closed loop control of bidirectional buck boost cascade inverter, which produces an ac output voltage larger than the dc input voltage. The bidirectional inverter is seen as the cascade of a buck stage and a boost stage. The function of buck stage is to maintain main inductor current as a constant value and boost stage

Sparse AC-Link Buck–Boost Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2014
Due to their remarkable merits, the soft-switching ac-link universal power converters have received noticeable attention during the last few years. These converters, which can be configured as dc-dc, dc-ac, ac-dc, or ac-ac, are compact, reliable, and offer longer life time compared to the other types of converters.

A Novel Single-Stage Buck–Boost Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2022
Traditional nonisolated multilevel inverters based on the buck–boost principle usually have some disadvantage such as necessary dead time or capacitor precharging. To overcome these, a new transformerless single-stage buck–boost voltage source inverter topology and its control method are proposed.

Component-Minimized Buck-Boost Voltage Source Inverters

2007 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting, 2007
This paper presents the design of buck-boost B4 inverters that can be derived from either Cuk- or SEPIC-derived buck-boost B6 inverters. Unlike traditional inverters, the integration of front-end voltage boost circuitry and inverter circuitry allows it to perform buck-boost voltage inversion.

Multi-resonant Non-Inverting Buck-Boost Converter

2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019
A DC-DC converter having buck-boost characteristics is proposed in this paper. The converter operation is based on the two resonators switched in between input and output ports having different characteristics frequencies. The resonant operation not only helps transfer energy but also to reduce losses using zero-current operation.

High gain single stage buck-boost inverter

2017 20th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2017
A high gain single stage buck-boost inverter (SSBBI) is proposed in this paper. The proposed topology has low semiconductors count, only four switches. The tapped inductor is applied to attain high gain feature. One-cycle control (OCC) is adopted to control the SSBBI and attain superior source ripple rejection.

An isolated single stage buck-boost inverter

2008 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2008
This paper presents a novel isolated single stage buck-boost inverter for implementing dc-to-ac, ac-to-dc or dc-to-dc. The BBI has better performances, in terms of low cost, high efficiency and high voltage gain. Through the HEV/EV application, the circuit operation principles and characteristics have been analyzed.

Single-phase buck-boost Z-source inverter

2013 IEEE 8th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2013
This paper proposes a novel single-phase Buck-Boost Z-source inverter topology. This topology performs the Buck-Boost conversion and inversion ability in single stage by using the unique feature of the Z-source network. Compared to traditional two stage realization, it is simple in structure and only utilizes three switches to get the required output ...
