To evaluate the feasibility of suprachoroidal buckling procedure using a suprachoroidal catheter, or cannula, as a new approach to treating different forms of retinal detachment, including myopic traction maculopathy, myopic macular holes, and peripheral retinal breaks by creating a suprachoroidal indentation (buckling effect) using a suprachoroidal ...

Abstract The complexity of petroleum wells has increased significantly during the past decade. Both inclination and horizontal departure are greater than before, leading to additional demands on well operations. Buckling of drillpipe and completion string is seen as a critical parameter.

An algorithm is presented which can be used to alleviate shape artifacts (buckling) that occur with interpolating spline curves or interpolating spline surfaces. The algorithm consists of applying small displacements to some of the vertices that are interpolated.

The author proves completeness, minimality and basis theorems for the eigenfunctions (and associated functions, if any) of \(-(py'')''=\lambda y''\), with various boundary conditions arising in the theory of buckling of columns. As well as a selfadjoint theory (for symmetric boundary conditions) in the Sobolev space \(W_2 ^2 (0,1)\), a nonselfadjoint ...

Buckling and Post-buckling of Beams
2017This chapter presents buckling and post-buckling analysis of straight beams under thermal and mechanical loads. The Euler and Timoshenko beam theories are considered and buckling and postbuckling behaviors are discussed. The buckling analysis of beams with piezoelectric layers is presented and the effect of piezo-control on the beam stability is ...
