Pepsin in the toad Bufo marinus
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1986The macroscopic localization of pepsinogen in the upper gastrointestinal tract of the anuran Bufo marinus was studied by means of biochemical assay. The pH optimum of the anuran pepsin was determined to be 1.6. The effect of lowered ambient temperature on stored pepsinogen and proteolytic activity was studied. Both parameters were reduced.

Neurohypophysial function in the toad Bufo marinus
General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1967Abstract A method for ureteral catheterization of the toad without need of surgical incision is described. Changes of ureteral urine flow and osmolality as well as the rate of bladder urine reabsorption were studied before and after the injection of hypertonic salt in the toad Bufo marinus.
