TO BUILD UP THE APPROPRIATE EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT IN JAPAN

open access: yesJournal of Construction Management, JSCE, 2004
Decreasing amount of investment in construction industry, reconsideration of many public projects, no more dams declaration, privatizing Japan Highway, people's eyes toward the construction industry is now getting to be cool and the people are suspicions of the industry. In this situation, civil engineers in Japan do not give appropriate answers to the

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Benchmarking the Performance of Construction Procurement Methods against Selection Criteria in Nigeria

open access: yesCivil Engineering Dimension, 2009
The study developed performance indices by the widely used procurement options in Nigeria on selection criteria. The traditional mean and standardized ratio were used to form the utility coefficients.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reprezentări sociale și construirea imaginii publice

open access: yesRevista Transilvană de Ştiinţe Administrative, 2004
This study deals with the concept of „social representation”, a mental construct performing a cognitive function which, at the same time, is perceived as a form of cultural expression and a means to the re-construction of reality.

Mechanistic analysis of TBM cutterhead-ground interaction under mud build-up effect

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
IntroductionIn tunnel construction using TBMs, the complex mineral composition of strata and hydrogeological conditions often induce cutterhead mud build-up, which results in sharp increases in torque and thrust, thereby reducing excavation efficiency ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Reports of coal’s terminal decline may be exaggerated

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2018
We estimate the cumulative future emissions expected to be released by coal power plants that are currently under construction, announced, or planned. Even though coal consumption has recently declined and plans to build new coal-fired capacities have ...
