ELAN—A computer model for building energy design
A simplified thermal network model (ELAN) is developed for the assessment of thermal comfort and energy consumption for heating and cooling of a building. Each zone is modelled by a second order network with two temperature nodes which, for a multizone building, are linked by internal transmission and ventilation.

Modelling the Energy Consumption of Buildings
2020This chapter looks at different models and approaches concerning the energy consumption of households and buildings. The modelling of building energy consumption falls completely within this context. The field of building energy consumption modelling is therefore vast, diverse and involves many disciplines spanning the social sciences, engineering ...

Energy Modelling of the Building
2016The paper is focused on the modelling of energy consumption of buildings depending on outside weather and depending on the insulation of buildings. Based on the values of the outside temperature changes, schedule room-temperature set point and the measurement of the energy supply to the building it is possible to calculate the energy performance of ...

Building information modelling based building energy modelling: A review
Applied Energy, 2019Abstract The emerging of building information modelling provides opportunities to break through the limitations of conventional building energy modelling such as tedious model preparation, model inconsistency and costly implementation, and promotes building energy modelling into the digital building design process.

Introduction to Building Energy Modeling
2018There is good reason that so much attention is paid to the concept of mathematical model in engineering and physics curriculum. Simple regressions derived from empirical data, differential equations based on first-principles, or detailed computational fluid dynamic simulations each provide an analytical framework that yields insight into the behavior ...
