Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Building Height-Characteristics in Three U.S. Cities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Urban canopy parameterizations have been used to represent urban effects in numerical models of mesoscale meteorology, the surface energy budget, and pollutant dispersion. The urban canopy parameterization accounts for the drag exerted by urban roughness

Empirical Formula for the Fundamental Period of Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frames in Indonesia

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Sipil
In dynamic analysis, the vibration period of a structure is recognized as a crucial factor that determines the structural response to earthquakes. The value of the structural vibration period is closely related to the stiffness and mass of a building ...

A Density-Guided and Residual-Feedback Denoising Method for Building Height Estimation from ICESat-2/ATLAS Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Building height is a critical parameter for urban analysis, yet accurately estimating it from ICESat-2 photon-counting LiDAR data remains challenging due to pervasive noise photons and uneven noise distribution.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.
