Options of modelling refurbishment in LCA: continuous improvement strategy and next life cycle approach

open access: yesActa Polytechnica CTU Proceedings, 2022
Compared to other goods, buildings have a long lifespan. It is therefore the norm and not the exception that adaptation will be needed at some point in their life cycle to changing environmental conditions, technical progress and new/additional user ...

Proposing an LCA methodology for the assessment of neighbourhood refurbishment measures

open access: yesEnvironmental Research: Infrastructure and Sustainability, 2023
Environmental impacts of new construction in the built environment have been determined for considerable time using life cycle assessments (LCAs). However, the significance of the existing building stock is neglected when considering environmental ...

Building Information Modeling Applications in Energy-Efficient Refurbishment of Existing Building Stock: A Case Study

open access: yesSustainability, 2023
The built environment contributes to 35% of the global energy consumption and 38% of energy-related carbon emissions. The exponential population growth, coupled with the inability of the existing building stock to meet demands or reach the end of its ...

BioCNTs Mediated Delivery of Systemically Mobile Small RNAs via Leaf Spray to Control Both Tomato DNA and RNA Viruses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.
