Southwestern Tian Shan: 1. Deformation of Cenozoic Intra‐Montane Basins and Intervening Basement Ranges in Front of the Indian Mantle Indenter

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract A structural analysis of intra‐montane basins establishes the deformation field of the southwestern Tian Shan, that part of the Tian Shan that faces the Pamir and thus the deformation that the Indian mantle‐lithosphere indenter beneath the Pamir imposes—northward indentation and westward crustal collapse.

Review of asteroid, meteor, and meteorite‐type links

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 60, Issue 4, Page 928-973, April 2025.
Abstract With the goal to determine the origin of our meteorites in the asteroid belt, video and photographic observations of meteors have now tracked 75 meteorite falls. Six years ago, there were just hints that different meteorite types arrived on different orbits, but now, the number of orbits (N) is high enough for distinct patterns to emerge.

Computational Analysis of Benzenoid Systems Using Valency‐Based Entropy Metrics and Topological Indices

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Nanomaterials find application in electronics, drugs, and biology among other disciplines. Benzenoid systems with their homogeneous structures are especially fit for computer study because of their predictable geometries. This work investigates computational analysis of benzenoid systems using valency‐based entropy measurements and degree‐based ...

The new kids on the block: RNA‐binding proteins regulate autophagy in disease

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 291, Issue 17, Page 3811-3819, September 2024.
The idea that autophagy can be regulated upstream of the protein level by de novo synthesis of autophagy‐related (ATG) mRNA transcripts has shifted the focus to regulation of the mRNA expression of ATG genes. Accumulating evidence suggests that the ATG mRNAs can also be regulated by RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs). Better understanding of the mechanisms by
